Ylang-Ylang/Cananga odorata

Ylang ylang is a tropical evergreen tree, with large shiny ovate leaves and long narrow flowers. The flowers change color as they mature from pale green to deep yellow. The tress have 2 main flowering periods, however flowers can effectively be collected all year round. Optimum yield per tree is obtained when the trees are between four and thirty years old. The life span of the tress are generally forty to fifty years.

Therapeutic properties: Ylang Ylang has aphrodisiac, antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiseptic, cicatrizant, circulatory stimulant, euphoric, hypotensive, nervine and sedative properties.
Perfume Key Qualities: warming and intoxicating.
Ayurveda Medicine: Balances the Pitta Dosha, decreases the Vata Dosha and increases the Kapha Dosha.

Ylang Ylang calms nerves and integrates emotions. It also promotes feelings of peace
and dispels anger and fear. It can help to increase sensuality. It can help to unite one’s emotional and sexual natures. It can also promote self-confidence and enthusiasm. It is used in blends for promoting love, peace and sex. It can be used to protect a tender heart.

Dilution of oil is always recommended. May cause skin irritation in some individuals and a skin test is recommended prior to use. Store into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life. Do not use during pregnancy.
