Geranium/Pelargonium Graveolens

Geranium is a bushy shrub with hairy, serrated, heart-shaped leaves and many flowers. There are over 700 varieties of cultivated geranium; however, most are grown for ornamental purposes. The oil producing species are Pelargonium odorantissimum, Pelargonium radens and Pelargonium graveolens, with Pelargonium graveolens being the main commercial variety.
Therapeutic properties: Geranium antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, cicatrizant, deodorant, diuretic, fungicidal, hemostatic, styptic, vermifuge and vulnerary properties.
Ayurveda Medicine: Balances the Pitta and Vata Doshas and decreases the Kapha Dosha.
Perfume Key Qualities: Refreshing and uplifting.
Geranium eases heartache. It can be used for any of the issues that cause conflict,
heartache and abandonment. Geranium has a very gentle nurturing energy that works on the soul level. Geranium calms both mind and spirit. It promotes both harmony and happiness in relationships and balances the emotions. It can provide spiritual protection. It can help one to be more creative. It is very helpful for transitions of any sort. Geranium provides strong protection and can be added to happiness blends.

Colour: A pale green to yellow essential oil.
